For over fifteen years, I have worked with communities affected by conflict, displacement, and social change to understand how communication and stories shape health, safety, identity, resilience, and social cohesion.
Today, my work explores a new frontier: how artificial intelligence is transforming the narratives through which people understand themselves, one another, and the future—and what it will take to preserve human connectedness, human agency, and safety in an age of weaponized narratives, fractured communities, and intelligent machines.

And increasingly, they are generated, mediated, and amplified by artificial intelligence.
How do we ensure that AI strengthens rather than diminishes our capacity for human agency, dignity, and democratic participation?
Technology is changing faster than our institutions can adapt.
Yet the central question remains profoundly human.
How do we create societies where people retain the freedom to think, imagine, belong, and shape their own futures?
